She started her career as a language teacher, specialised in early childhood and then went on to train teachers as part of a NGO before moving to Canada. Here, she became a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, later specialising in perinatal nutrition while training to be a doula and a perinatal yoga teacher. Certified as a birth doula, Victoria is passionate about VBAC. She started her career in political science with a focus on women's and children's rights, but during the first of her birth child, she felt her rights were taken away as the lack of informed choice led to a cascade of interventions and to an unwanted C-section. For her second birth, she prepared herself with the help of a doula and achieved a VBAC. She felt inspired by her doula's work so she decided to get trained and become a doula herself, in order to help other mothers with similar experiences achieve the same outcome. She believes this path has given me the ability to impact individual families and plant the seeds for a future where our birth culture is not based in fear but empathy, integrity, and transparency

Trained as Birth and Postpartum Doula by Doula School, Jenn has wanted to take care of people since she was little. She wanted to be a nurse growing up but that wasn't the path that she ended up on. She grew up traveling around the world thanks to her father's job and wouldn't trade it for anything. Once she was back in Canada she tried her hand at many careers but kept being pulled back to caring for people. She was a nanny for 6+ years and finally found her calling in being a doula. She is passionately fierce and can always be counted on for a hand to hold or a laugh when needed. She lives with her daughter and her wonderful wife in Ottawa's west end.
